Job description

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team in a dynamic hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, supporting food preparation, and ensuring a smooth kitchen operation. RESPONSIBILTIES 

  • Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of cooks or chefs
  • Support kitchen staff by ensuring all areas are kept tidy and organized
  • Dispose of waste following proper procedures
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times

SKILLS

  • Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques is advantageous
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Team player with excellent communication skills

GROW is an independent and grassroots cultural space with international impact, based in Hackney Wick. The venue includes busy bars, kitchen and indoor and outdoor areas from which people enjoy good food, drinks and cultural and community events throughout the day into the night.  Since opening in 2014, our aim is to extend opportunities for people to enjoy a creative and nurturing environment whilst exploring ecological and social sustainability. We are an accredited Hackney Nights Venue and part of an ecosystem of artist and maker spaces and a working yard called Grow Studios.
