Job Overview

We are seeking a self-starting Store Manager with a pared-back, flavour-first approach to food and an unwavering commitment to a seasonal menu. As the Store Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to shape our culinary offering as part of a new and exciting concept, implementing a menu that both adapts to the seasons and reflects the needs of our local community. Your role will encompass day-to-day management of the store while also overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish reflects the Natoora commitment to excellence and seasonality while truly resonating with the local neighbourhood. Experience in specialty coffee and strong barista skills are a plus. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a strictly seasonal menu that highlights the best of what Natoora sources and engages local customers through flavour
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be Commercially aware and strategic
  • Ensure that the store targets are achieved in terms of sales, waste and  employment 
  • Set and maintain high standards of product knowledge throughout the team by allocating time for training and following up on an individual’s learning
  • Ensure staff and logistics are in place to ensure a speedy but quality service
  • Multitasker who thrives in leadership
  • Maintaining a clean and organised environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing customer demands and the challenges and opportunities of seasonality
  • Stock control, inventory and labour costs, optimising operations while embracing the dynamic nature of seasonal ingredients. Monitor and manage kitchen expenses within budgetary constraints
  • Have proven experience with working with budgets and managing people.
  • Must be comfortable with spreadsheets, invoices and difficult conversations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role, with a strong passion for seasonal produce and a strong understanding of specialty coffee. 
  • Culinary skills and a deep appreciation for high-quality, fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Knowledge of food safety and kitchen upkeep practices. 
  • Experience as a barista is a plus.
