We have a new position within our team for an ASSISTANT GROWER to support our head grower in cultivating multi crop vegetables for our veg box scheme and wholesale customers.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Growing Local is a community interest company that encourages and educates communities to grow, cook and eat local food. In the summer of 2023 the organisation took on a new 19 acre site to establish a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) market garden to grow vegetables for a box scheme and establish an educational garden and teaching resource to inspire our future generations. We started selling our crop shares in July 2024 from our first cultivations on our new site.
We have two large polytunnels, a borehole and irrigation system, propagation space, machinery and two shipping containers for storage. We are planning to build additional protected cropping space, a large packing shed and purchase additional tractor implements in 2025. This will allow the increase in volume and variety of crops. Going into our second growing season we require a full-time assistant grower from mid-March to mid-October.
