Job description
Spitalfields City Farm is seeking an Education Assistant to support all aspects of the Farm's education programme, working with children and young people in Tower Hamlets. This is a full-time, on-site role that involves working outdoors year-round. The regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, though occasional weekend work may be required based on the Farm's needs.
We are expanding the Education Department at Spitalfields City Farm so that we can reach further into the community that we currently serve. Children visit us on school trips, via free holiday activities and at the weekend with their families. In increasing our staff team, we will be able to offer an after-school club, a pre-school group and travelling workshops in our new Farm van.
As Education Assistant you will be instrumental in the delivery of these new programmes and will be invited to contribute your ideas and creativity in the planning stages. You will also be leading our popular guided tours of the Farm, weaving in your knowledge of plants, animals and food systems. You will support the planning and delivery of our holiday activity programme, especially in the Summer, when we run a busy schedule of cooking, craft, nature and animal activities on the Farm.
