Job description

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for numbers and customer service? We’re looking for a Credit Controller to manage a diverse ledger of customers within the food industry, resolving payment issues and maintaining strong relationships. Key responsibilities

  • Check customer’s credit and approve or deny it based on agreed standards
  • Provide effective solutions and where necessary payment plans. 
  • Chase overdue debts by telephone and email ensuring customers pay within allocated terms
  • Proactively investigate and resolve queries relating to non-payment of invoices
  • Maintain accurate records of Credit Control activity and outcomes
  • Work closely with colleagues on solving issues affecting Credit Control
  • Adhoc support to the wider Finance team including recording Retail sales, weekly sales reports and assistance at company stock counts. 

 Requirements for the role are

  • Excellent customer service and effective at managing relationships
  • The ability to listen and negotiate with customers
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Analytical skills and thorough attention to detail.  Interested in numbers!
  • Ability to record and report financial transactions efficiently
  • Good knowledge Office 365 apps (esp. Excel) is essential
  • Persistence and determination
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Highly organised with proven time management skills
  • Knowledge of French, Spanish or Italian would be an advantage
  • An interest in food and the food industry
