Lead Grower/Market Gardener Opportunity at 13 Acre Orchard. This role is Full-Time, Year-Round.

13 Acre Orchard is seeking an experienced Lead Grower to take a key role in building and managing our organic vegetable production. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about sustainable farming to lead a small team, oversee crop production, and contribute to the success of our farm.

We are extending our growing operation to include a full and diverse range of vegetables and herbs, which will be sold at our London shop and on the farmers markets we attend. We have a strong commitment to regenerative practices, we prioritize soil health, biodiversity, and high-quality produce.

The Role

As Lead Grower, you will oversee the entire production process and play a leadership role in the market garden, including:

• Planning and managing crop production schedules, including planting, harvesting, and rotation planning.
• Leading and supervising a small team of seasonal workers, and volunteers.
• Monitoring and maintaining soil health, irrigation systems, and pest management using organic methods.
• Operating and maintaining farm tools, machinery, and infrastructure.
• Ensuring high standards of post-harvest handling, washing, and packing for market, and wholesale.
• Keeping accurate records and ensuring compliance with organic certification
• Contributing to ongoing farm planning and development.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• 3+ years of experience in market gardening, organic farming, or similar production systems.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• A deep understanding of organic/regenerative agriculture and commitment to sustainable practices.
• Good understanding of soil health
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work efficiently in all weather conditions.
• A valid driver’s license (preferred).
