About Good Earth Growers

Good Earth Growers (GEG) is a certified organic farm growing produce in Cornwall. GEG grows herbs, flowers ,salads , micro greens and specialty vegetables. GEG trials new plants and seeks out routes to market for these new exciting produce. We also work with other carefully chosen farms to drive consistency and volume.

GEG strives to be a leader, developing and educating customers and farmers on the potential produce being grown sustainably and with great attention to detail and quality. GEG strives to demonstrate that positive earth care and social change can operate within a profitable business.

As a company we want to continue to grow our markets to include, seeds and plants as well as offering education and publishing. We are looking for a General Manager to help us reach our potential. Optimising our current resources and land to increase sustainable profit and wellbeing and development our relationships with partner farms.

This position would be the perfect role for someone who has a strong understanding of running a farm and the principles of smaller scale organic regenerative agriculture.

About the Position:

The person we are looking for will be critical for achieving the smooth running of operations. Scaling, developing and growing the business while maintaining the core principles of care of the land, care of the people and quality of the produce which is at the forefront of the goals of the organisation.

The successful candidate will have strong ethical and ecological awareness whilst working with efficiency and effectiveness. Leading and developing the team, cultivating a culture where personal development and skill growth are a priority.

This is permanent full-time role with seasonal variation with the opportunity for an immediate start. We operate across multiple sites working primarily at Crocadon Farm, St Mellions, Cornwall. Your responsibilities will include :

• Planning and forecasting with the head grower
• Team management ensuring work is prioritised to meet the needs of the business
• Developing internal and external communication
• Training team members to harvest crops to the relevant specification and time
• Overseeing the correct and timely despatch of produce
• Communicating with customers about their orders
• Looking after business compliance
• Recording and reporting on key business information and driving progress

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on farms and a deep understanding of organic agriculture
• Knowledge of growing plans, harvest and packing/logistics processes
• Hiring, training, scheduling and managing of the team
• Equipment procurement and maintenance
• Experience with accreditation processes
• A keen eye for product development and quality
