Job description
Healthy Living Centre Dartford is a charity dedicated to improving health and wellbeing through community-led initiatives. As part of our mission, we are expanding our work in sustainable food growing, improving food security, and promoting healthier lifestyles for local residents. We are seeking a passionate Community Food Grower for a one-year contract to lead and develop community food-growing projects in Dartford. This role will involve working with local residents, volunteers, and partner organisations to create and maintain thriving food-growing spaces, promote sustainable practices, and support food education initiatives. The post-holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining community growing spaces, engaging with and supporting the local community to promote food growing skills, delivering educational workshops, assisting with project development and reporting and evaluating the impact of the project. We are looking for a candidate with practical experience in community food growing, horticulture or permaculture who can engage with community groups, has good organisation and planning skills and can deliver training sessions with confidence to help with the overarching project aim of a move to food parity and a sustainable supply of food, for improved health and well-being for the community in Dartford.
