Job description

This vital new role provides key administrative and operational support to our Brighton-based Operations Team. You’ll play a crucial part in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly - a big focus will be supervising and supporting volunteers from diverse backgrounds, helping to recruit new team members, and building partnerships to expand volunteering opportunities. Your work will ensure excellent service and maximum impact.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive coordinator to join our team in Brighton. This new role is essential to the smooth day-to-day running of our operations and will provide key administrative support to the Team. You’ll work closely with the Volunteer Manager and Head of Operations to coordinate volunteer recruitment and training, manage rotas, and support our kitchen volunteer team. A key part of the role will be ensuring the highest standards of customer service while handling administrative tasks like contract renewals, data processing, and procurement.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on multitasking and has a passion for working with people. You’ll help build and manage an office volunteer team, oversee volunteer expense claims, and ensure compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards.

We’re looking for someone with brilliant people skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities with a positive and resilient attitude. You’ll join a supportive, values-led organisation with a culture of inclusivity, respect, and teamwork. Your role will directly support our mission to get quality surplus food to those in need across Sussex and Surrey.
