Job description

About our Organisation

The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues in isolation.

We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we support and grow the organic market, and we protect forests. We couldn't do any of this without our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world where it’s needed the most.

About the Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen to join the Farming and Land Use team at the Soil Association as a Project Co-ordinator. The Farming and Land Use team works with farmers and growers across the UK supporting the adoption of organic and agroecological approaches to farming and food production. The team is involved in several projects and also runs a range of events and workshops throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for a capable, professional and proactive organiser who is interested in positive change in farming to join a friendly, busy team. As a Project Co-ordinator, you’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks across the Farming and Land Use team, including:

  • Assisting with delivery of project elements including on large multi-partner European projects
  • Organising and supporting events including facilitating online meetings/events
  • Assisting with project administration/reporting

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a positive, proactive person with a track record of complex project co-ordination and event delivery. You will be comfortable with multitasking across tasks to meet project deadlines and working with a team using collaborative platforms including Microsoft Teams. You will have excellent communication skills - both verbal and written and be comfortable with verbal communication online and in-person including with larger groups. As well as having excellent administration and organisational skills you will have high attention to detail.
