Job description

We are looking to appoint a Land and Animal Worker at both Grace Garden School sites to support the daily operations of our land, animal husbandry, and landscaping activities. You will organise and guide suitable tasks for pupils, staff, and volunteers using the principles and methodologies of biodynamic agriculture.

The chosen candidate will model effective interactions with nature, the land, animals, the farm, pupils, staff, and parents. You will also prepare the garden to serve as an educational facility and manage projects in a market garden, collaborating closely with teachers and teaching assistants.

It will be beneficial if you have:

  • Training in Biodynamic Agriculture or willing to attend training and work towards a qualification.
  • Experience of the working in line with the seasonal cycles and/or the biodynamic calendar
  • Experience of working with young people with learning differences and who may be less likely to engage with mainstream educational approaches – Training will be given
  • Experience of managing a diverse workload and meeting strict deadlines

You will need to:

  • Commute to both sites in Bristol (Grace Garden School and the Stoke Bishop site)
  • Work weekends (on a rota basis) to support the Land Team with animal and land tasks.
